Experience The Destinations
Before Vestnorden begins, buyers have the opportunity to join one of six pre-tours exploring different regions of Greenland. These tours offer a deeper understanding of the destination by allowing participants to experience the landscapes, culture and tourism products firsthand.
Please select in the registration system which pre-tour you would like to be considered for. Participation is limited and subject to confirmation. The tours involve an additional fee, please review the description and price for each individual tour before applying.
Cancellations made after 1 July 2026 are non-refundable. All cancellations must be submitted by email to vestnorden@vestnorden.com.
Pre Tours Destination Arctic Circle
Experience Greenland through its signature adventures, powerful landscapes, and authentic local communities. This pre tour connects the Ice Sheet, iconic fjords, Arctic wildlife, and legendary Arctic Circle Trail. Guided by local knowledge and shaped by respect for people and place. The program is built on strong local roots and close cooperation with experienced operators.

Pre Tours Explore North Greenland – the land up north
Explore North Greenland - a region where Greenland’s story comes alive through archaeology, living Inuit culture, and the country’s most iconic attraction, the Ilulissat Icefjord. The pretour starts in Ilulissat, the main transport hub of the north and Greenland’s leading tourism town, where around 5,000 people live alongside a strong fishing industry, two fish factories, a growing tourism sector, and countless sled dogs that define winter life.

Pre Tours Destination Diskobay
Explore Qeqertalik - the region of two thousand islands. A 4 day journey through the Disko Bay region of Qeqertalik, where you’ll discover traces of Greenland’s ancient cultures in Qasigiannguit and experience local flavours during the town’s food festival. Continue to Qeqertarsuaq on Disko Island, a former whaling settlement, where you can explore unique Arctic nature and enjoy Greenlandic culinary traditions.

This journey into East Greenland is an immersion into vast Arctic landscapes, remote coastal life, and powerful stories shaped by ice, sea, and history. Your route follows iceberg-filled fjords to isolated settlements where traditions remain closely tied to nature. Along the way, you’ll explore abandoned WWII sites, step inside a glowing blue ice cave, and experience dog sledding reimagined for the Arctic summer.

Pre Tours Visit Nuuk, the capital of Greenland
Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, is the world’s smallest, most northerly capital, boasting a blend of modern Nordic culture and traditional Inuit heritage, with population of just 20.000. Located on the southwest coast, it offers dramatic, unobstructed views of the massive Nuuk Fjord, colourful houses, international airport, and the iconic Sermitsiaq Mountain.
