Tour description and schedule
Day 1 – 16.09.2026
Flight FI103 Keflavik 11:45 – Kulusuk 12:35
Your East Greenland adventure begins with a flight from Keflavik to Kulusuk, where the Arctic landscape immediately takes over. From here, the journey continues by boat, sailing through iceberg-dotted fjords and dramatic coastal scenery. Along the way, there are stops at striking historical and natural sites that offer insight into both human presence and the vastness of the land. The day concludes in the remote settlement of Tiilerilaaq, one of the smallest communities in the region. A guided visit offers a glimpse of everyday life in East Greenland before settling into shared local accommodation for the night.
Day 2 – 17.09.2026
After breakfast, you continue sailing toward Tasiilaq, the lively cultural and commercial centre of the Ammassalik region. Set among dramatic mountains and winding fjords, the town spreads across scenic hillsides overlooking the surrounding Arctic landscape. Today’s highlight is a unique summer dogsled experience on wheels, offering a playful and memorable way to connect with one of Greenland’s most iconic traditions outside the winter season. You will also have time to explore Tasiilaq, wander its colourful streets, and experience everyday life in East Greenland’s largest community. Overnight at a hotel in Tasiilaq.
Day 3 – 18.09.2026
This day takes you deeper into the landscapes and stories that define East Greenland. By boat, you visit a remote, abandoned WWII airbase, an unexpected reminder of Greenland’s strategic role in global history. The journey continues to the magnificent Knud Rasmussen Glacier, where lunch is served with front-row views of ice, rock, and silence. In the evening, the focus turns to connection and exchange during a networking dinner with local tourism operators, offering valuable insight into the region’s opportunities and challenges.
Overnight at a hotel in Tasiilaq.
Day 4 – 19.09.2026
On the final day, you leave Tasiilaq behind for one last Arctic highlight: a visit to the ice cave at Apusiaajik Glacier. Entering the cave reveals sculpted ice formations and shifting blue light, a powerful finale to the journey. After returning to Kulusuk, you depart East Greenland in the afternoon, flying above the Greenland ice sheet to arrive in Nuuk in the evening.
Flight GL635 Kulusuk 16:00 – Nuuk 18:00
What to wear
Greenland’s weather can change quickly and unexpectedly, so we recommend dressing in layers which you can add or remove easily. Always bring extra layers and waterproof gear, as temperatures and conditions can shift throughout the day.
What to bring
Snacks – it’s always good to have your favourite snack along for long days at sea and on land. Your own reusable water bottle.
