As always while traveling in Iceland the weather can cause delays and changes. For that we have countered plan A, B and C and will inform any changes due to weather in timely manner to all participants.
Tour description and schedule
September 15 – Arrival in Kangerlussuaq ice sheep base camp
Arrive in Kangerlussuaq, the gateway to the Greenland Ice Sheet. After check-in, enjoy lunch and a welcome briefing introducing the journey ahead. In the afternoon, explore the tundra landscape and hike to Køkkenfjeldet, offering panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness.
In the evening, enjoy dinner at the Canoe Center.
September 16 – SERMERSUAQ – The Greenland Ice Sheet Experience
Start the day with an early breakfast before departing on a full-day excursion to the Greenland Ice Sheet – Sermersuaq. Walk on ancient ice, witness deep crevasses, and feel the powerful presence of one of Earth’s greatest natural wonders. Return to Kangerlussuaq for dinner at Restaurant Ummimmaq.
September 17 – Moments of Eternity: Fjords, Glaciers & Wildlife Mini cruise
After a very early breakfast, transfer to the harbor at 06:30 for a full-day mini cruise from Kangerlussuaq to Sisimiut.
Depart through Greenland’s longest fjord and enter dramatic landscapes of towering mountains, glaciers, and cascading meltwater. The mini cruise continues into the legendary Eternity Fjord, home to impressive glaciers and steep bird cliffs filled with thousands of seabirds.
Enjoy lunch in calm, sheltered waters surrounded by mountains before continuing north. Cross the Arctic Circle and receive a personal certificate, then pass the UNESCO-listed Nipisat area and known whale habitats, where humpback whales are often seen. Arrive in Sisimiut in the evening.
September 18 – Sisimiut Culture & Backcountry Adventure
Beginning the day with a guided sightseeing tour of Sisimiut, highlighting its history, culture, and vibrant coastal life, while providing insight into the many unique experiences and tour products available to visitors.
Throughout the day, gain an understanding of how these activities can be combined into inspiring programs and itineraries that allow guests to explore the vast and legendary backcountry in multiple ways.
In the afternoon, continue deeper into the wilderness on a Backcountry Adventure. Through ATV/UTV driving and dog carting, we gain access to the vast Arctic landscapes and remote areas – experiencing the silence, the scale, and the raw beauty that leave a lasting impression.
The Arctic Circle Track makes the wilderness accessible to visitors of all backgrounds, inviting everyone to feel truly connected to nature.
Dinner is served in the evening.
September 19 – Hiking, Local Encounters & Departure
Begin the day with breakfast and check-out before setting out on a gentle, town-based walk along a well-established hiking trail. The route leads past scenic waterfalls to the KISAQ cabin, offering an easy and accessible introduction to Sisimiut’s surrounding landscapes.
At KISAQ, enjoy refreshments featuring traditional Greenlandic specialties in peaceful natural surroundings.
After returning to town, continue to Taseralik Cultural Centre for lunch and a Meet & Greet with local tourism businesses. This provides an opportunity to build relationships and explore how cooperation can develop tourism products into more immersive and meaningful experiences.
In the afternoon, transfer from Taseralik to the airport for departure.

What to wear
Greenland’s weather is unpredictable and can shift with no notice, especially during autumn. Wear good and warm clothes, as we will be out in the nature walking, on a boat
What to bring
Warm & outdoor clothes, good walking shoes, casual clothes for dinners. Always bring your swimsuit along while visiting Iceland!
