Deviation / Please note:
- The post-tour starts the day after Vestnorden ends, requiring an extra night in the Faroe Islands at your own expense.
- Whale wathcing is weather dependant, if cancelled as a backup the group will do an ATV tour.
Tour description and schedule
Day 1: Arrival to Iceland, Reykanes experience and transfer to Ísafjörður
- 8:15 Arrive at Keflavik International Airport
- 9:00 Welcomed by the hosts of Reykjanes, breakfast in Keflavik and a ½ day experience with local experts amidst the dynamic landscapes of Reykjanes.
- 16:00: Transfer to Reykjavík’s domestic airport.
- 17:30: Departure for Ísafjörður from Reykjavík.
- 18:30: Arrive in Ísafjörður, check into your hotel.
- Evening: Welcome dinner in Ísafjörður.
Day 2: Exploring the Westfjords
- Start the day with breakfast at the hotel.
- Head out for a full-day excursion across the Westfjords, immersing in the stunning landscapes and local culture.
- Excursion Highlights:
- Visit Ísafjörður for a glimpse into the area’s rich history.
Explore the quaint fishing village of Bolungarvík. - Take in the breathtaking views from Bolafjall Mountain.
- Marvel at the Dynjandi waterfall, the largest in the Westfjords.
- Enjoy a picnic lunch with local delicacies amidst the scenic beauty of the Westfjords.
- Partake in a whale watching adventure, witnessing the majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
- Return to Hotel.
- Conclude the day with a dinner at the hotel.
- Visit Ísafjörður for a glimpse into the area’s rich history.
Day 3: Departure to Reykjavík and exploring Reykjanes peninsula
- Morning: Breakfast at the hotel.
- Depart Ísafjörður on the 10:00 AM flight to Reykjavík, arriving at 11:00 AM.
- From lunch and afternoon:
- Experience a day with local experts amidst the dynamic landscapes of Reykjanes, where ancient and recent volcanic activity intertwine. Embark on a journey through the historic and contemporary eruption sites, with the option to venture into the charming town of Grindavík.
- Conclude the day with relaxation and rejuvenation at the world-famous Blue Lagoon.
- Evening: dinner and arrival at hotel
What to wear
We will be outside in nature, driving, light hiking and whale watching on a boat. Bring good outddor clothing, layers are great, good shoes and swim wear for the hot tub at the hotel and Blue lagoon.
