Tour description and schedule

Fuglafjørður is a friendly town with a charming town centre and lots to offer. We stop first at the Culture House, a venue popular for both concerts and conferences, for a drink and music. In the inviting park, centrally located between the church and the library, is the new memorial for women who died in childbirth.

We stroll along the main street with Fjord’s gift shop and the local yarn & coffee shop to the historical store and warehouse from 1887, Ribarhus. It is now an arts and crafts centre with a cosy gallery café and a beautiful handicraft shop, where a sample of local products is served by Restaurant Muntra.

Leaving Fuglafjørður, it is only a 5 min drive to the family-run Warm Spring Farm outside the village of Norðragøta. Today it is a modern dairy farm with a freestall barn where you can meet the calves. Visit their café overlooking the barn, and try three different appetizers from the farm, as well as delicious homemade lemonade.

The last place to visit is the Boat and Art Museum in nearby Leirvík, where the history of the old Faroese rowing boat and traditional fishing is being brought to life. Started by a local shipowner with an interest in the traditional boat, it has several different boats and unique history about each one of them. On special occasions, like today, one of them serves as a table for dried fish and a cool beer.
